Pakistan's Hubco says 2008/09 net profit up 45.4 pct

KARACHI Aug 12 (Reuters) - Pakistan's Hub Power Co Ltd (Hubco) (HPWR.KA) reported on Wednesday net profit of 3.78 billion rupees ($45.7 million) for 2008/09, a jump of 45.4 percent from the previous year.

Hubco, the country's second-largest private power producer, earned net profit of 2.6 billion rupees in 2007/08.

Five analysts surveyed by Reuters had forecast full-year earnings of between 3.8 billion and 4.1 billion rupees.

The firm also announced a final cash dividend of 2.0 rupees per share.

By 0920 GMT, Hubco shares were trading up 0.75 percent at 30.70 rupees in a broader market .KSE trading 0.13 percent higher.
