S.Korea's Sungwon wins $996 mln Libya order

SEOUL Aug 13 (Reuters) - South Korean builder Sungwon Corp 012090.KS has won a preliminary order from Libya for a housing project worth about 1.2 trillion won ($966.1 million), the company said in a filing to the Korea Exchange on Thursday.

The order from the Libyan Investment and Development Company is to build 5,000 residential units in Tobruk, Libya, according to the filing.

Shares in Sungwon spiked 14.8 percent versus the broader market's .KS11 0.92 percent rise as of 0238 GMT.
