Amcor to raise A$2.4 bln for Rio asset-paper

 SYDNEY, Aug 17 (Reuters) - Australian packaging group Amcor
Ltd (AMC.AX) is poised to raise A$2.4 billion ($2 billion) to
fund its acquisition of Rio Tinto (RIO.AX)(RIO.L)'s Alcan
Packaging unit, the Australian Financial Review said on Monday.
 The offer, to be brokered by UBS and Goldman Sachs JBWere,
would consist of A$1.6 billion in equity and about A$800
million in debt, the paper said in an unsourced report.
