BERLIN (Reuters) - Triple Olympic champion and world record holder Usain Bolt cruised into the world championships 100 meters final where he will meet his biggest rival Tyson Gay later on Sunday.

Jamaican Bolt, who toyed with the television cameras before making a false start, got down to business, comfortably winning his semi-final in an impressive 9.89 seconds.

American defending world champion Gay, nursing a minor groin injury, won his semi in 9.93, just ahead of former world record holder Asafa Powell of Jamaica who looked to be easing off at the end.

Briton Dwain Chambers also booked his final spot but countryman Tyrone Edgar was disqualified for a second false start in Bolt's heat.
