Leading Medicaid Conference Offers Platform To Explore Alternative Solutions
DALLAS--(Business Wire)--
Major shifts in the government healthcare market spurred by the federal
government`s economic stimulus bill and compounded by the increasing burdens
placed on budgets is forcing many States to change the way they administer State
Medicaid programs.

Affiliated Computer Services, Inc. (NYSE: ACS) - a leader in government
healthcare solutions - will demonstrate how the innovative use of technology can
help States meet their budget challenges and maximize their federal stimulus
dollars with several panel presentations during the 2009 Medicaid Management
Information Systems (MMIS) Conference to be held Aug. 16-20 in Chicago.

ACS is presenting on a total of six panels during the conference, featuring:

* "The Importance of Involving Pharmacy in your EHR Solution: A Florida Success
Case Study" - Kevin Whittington, program manager for ACS
* "From Fractured to Functioning: Turning Around a State/Vendor Relationship for
Maximum Success" - Ross Becker, executive account manager for ACS
* "Reaching for MITA 5: Paradigm Shift Beyond the Architecture" - Chris Mirro,
vice president of business development for ACS
* "Sorting Through the APD Red Tape" - Kristine Weinberger, assessment team
manager for ACS
* "Business Impact Training: HIPAA X12 5010 Transactions: Claims and Remittance
Advice"
* "Business Impact Training: HIPAA X12 5010 Transactions: Eligibility Inquiry,
Claim Status and Prior Authorization Referral"

Specifically, ACS representatives will discuss the importance of involving a
pharmacy component in a state-wide electronic health record (EHR) solution.
While many states are looking to develop EHRs and interoperability between
physicians, laboratories, and other disparate sources of medical data, ACS will
discuss how state Medicaid programs must ensure the inclusion of their pharmacy
programs in their EHR plans - and not only for the purpose of e-prescribing.

ACS subject matter experts will be available at ACS booths #27 and 28 to discuss
the company`s Health Enterprise MMIS system and its Informed Health suite of
health information exchange and electronic health record offerings including
care and disease management tools. Demonstrations are available at an ACS demo
suite upon request.
