KOREM, Through its U.S. Subsidiary Primus Geographics, Announces the
Availability of its Custom Broadband USA Application Data Package and
Consulting Services

DENVER, CO, Aug. 17 /PRNewswire/ - KOREM Inc., a leading spatial system
integrator and consulting company, today announced the availability of its
custom Broadband USA application data package and consulting services. The
data package includes spatial data for terrestrial broadband providers (cable
TV and wireline carriers) trimmed to approximate actual service areas as well
as Census block level spatial data that includes many of the requisite
attributes for the application process for broadband funding under the
American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009.
The American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009 stimulus package allocates
7.2 billion dollars for spending on broadband infrastructure through the
Broadband Technology Opportunities Program (BTOP) and the Broadband
Initiatives Program (BIP). Companies applying for stimulus funding must
provide specified broadband data, including demographic and geographical areas
that are not served by any advanced telecommunications provider. KOREM is
providing the data and has developed the necessary mapping capabilities to
satisfy stimulus application requirements.
"The August 14th application deadline for the first round of broadband
stimulus funding has been extended to August 20th for those who have pending
electronic applications. KOREM can help the applicants complete the process by
providing the required data such as rural/non-rural, unserved/underserved,
population, households, business counts, etc. As the extension deadline
approaches, KOREM is helping telecommunications providers meet the critical
data and mapping requirements," said Guy Larson, US General Manager, KOREM
Inc. "We have the data built at the Census block level and the consultants on
hand to assist with the application and the digitizing needed for the
Broadband USA mapping portal."
