Maxwell Technologies Promotes George Kreigler to Chief Operating Officer

SAN DIEGO, Aug. 17 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Maxwell Technologies, Inc.
(Nasdaq: MXWL) announced today that it has promoted George Kreigler III to the
new position of chief operating officer, with overall responsibility for the
company's operations in the U.S., Europe and Asia.

Kreigler, 56, joined Maxwell as vice president, operations, in 2006, and was
promoted to senior vice president in 2007.  He has more than 30 years of high
technology operations and business management experience, including
supervision of multiple large-scale offshore manufacturing facilities.  David
Schramm, Maxwell's president and chief executive officer, said that creation
of the new COO position reflects the need to strengthen coordination and
management of the company's increasingly complex worldwide operations.
