Dr. Wendy Frieling Joins PHNS Team

DALLAS--(Business Wire)-- PHNS announced that Wendy Frieling, MD, MMM, has joined PHNS as Northeast Regional Account Executive, where she will supervise the delivery of PHNS` information technology and business process services to hospitals in the Northeast. Dr. Frieling, who has been involved in the development of electronic medical records (EMRs) since the early 1990s, will also participate in PHNS` eHealth team, which implements and integrates EMRs and other electronic technology based solutions for hospitals to improve, maximize and enhance patient care and quality. Prior to joining PHNS, Dr. Frieling received her MD from UMDNJ, NJ Medical School in Newark, New Jersey, and completed a residency in pediatrics at The University of Colorado, The Children`s Hospital in Denver, Colorado. She joined the academic general pediatrics faculty at the University of Vermont in 1995 where she was Assistant Professor of Pediatrics. In 1998, Dr. Frieling moved back to her home state of New Jersey where in 2002 she opened Wellness Center Pediatrics, a paperless, wireless office. In 2006, she became "physician champion" for Newton Memorial Hospital`s medical staff as they went live with a new clinical information system in 2007. That position evolved into a CMIO role and in 2008 Dr. Frieling became CIO for Newton Memorial. While at Newton Memorial, Dr. Frieling also had the opportunity to serve as interim VPMA and as medical director of the hospitalist program. She completed her Masters degree in Medical Management at Carnegie Mellon University in 2009. Dr. Frieling continues to practice pediatrics in Sparta, New Jersey, and is actively involved in the creation of a Health Information Exchanges in northern New Jersey.
