Stanley J. Lukowski Elected Chairman of Abt Associates Board of Directors

CAMBRIDGE, Mass., Aug. 17 /PRNewswire/ -- Abt Associates announced that Stanley J. Lukowski has been elected Chairman of the company's Board of Directors. Lukowski succeeds John A. Shane who served as Chairman since 2005 and retired from the Board in July. Lukowski, who joined the Abt Associates Board in 2006, is the former Chairman and CEO of Eastern Bank Corporation, a position he held from 1992 until his retirement in 2006. Under his leadership, Eastern Bank grew to become the largest independent commercial bank in New England, with 80 branches and assets of more than $6 billion. He is actively involved with several community groups in Greater Boston. He serves as Chairman of the Board of Trustees of Partners Continuing Care, Chairman of the Massachusetts Housing Partnership, Chairman of the Board of Overseers of the North Shore Medical Center, and trustee of the Massachusetts Taxpayer's Foundation. He is also a member of the Compensation Committee of Partners HealthCare System. He received a B.S. degree from Villanova University and an M.B.A. from Columbia University.
