ANGLO & OVERSEAS PLC

Based on a bid price valuation, the unaudited net asset value per Ordinary
Share of the Company as at 14 August 2009 was 99.25 pence including estimated
current period revenue and 96.69 pence excluding current period revenue.

This is based on 76,016,881 Ordinary Shares, being the issued capital of
84,462,319 Ordinary Shares less 8,445,438 Ordinary Shares held in treasury.
