Illinois Soybean Association to Unveil New Exhibit & Interactive Game at Farm
Progress Show
BLOOMINGTON, Ill., Aug. 17 /PRNewswire/ -- The Illinois Soybean Association
(ISA) looks forward to unveiling their new exhibit at the Farm Progress
ShowSeptember 1, 2 and 3 in Decatur, IL. The exhibit encompasses three full
lots (120'x70') and embodies the theme of "Illinois Soybean Growers: A Legacy
of Leadership." One of the main highlights will be a new "Think'n with
Lincoln" interactive game, which ties in with Abraham Lincoln's 200th birthday
celebration.
"We're excited about this exhibit because it truly celebrates farmers -
particularly Illinois soybean growers," Ron Moore (Roseville, IL), Farmer
Chairman of the ISA Board, said. "It's a tribute to the hard work, dedication
and contributions farmers have made to this country and our world."
The Farm Progress show exhibit, which is funded in part by the soybean
checkoff, also acknowledges soybean growers as leaders in their industry.
Displays exemplify Illinois soybean growers' roles in agricultural production,
research and education.
Exhibit Highlights
The exhibit features many attractions that will include photos, graphics and
interactive components to appeal to visitors of all ages:
-- Think'n with Lincoln game, hosted by "Abe Lincoln"
himself, with the opportunity to compete for prizes!
-- Fish tank with live catfish to represent soy's benefits for
aquaculture
-- The "Legacy" truck, which illustrates the timeline of three
generations of a family farm
-- Air-conditioned VIP hospitality tent for ISA members
-- Opportunity to sign up for ISA membership
-- Other displays to educate attendees on the value of checkoff-supported
programs and research areas
Think'n with Lincoln Interactive Game
One of the chief draws in the Farm Progress Show exhibit is the new "Think'n
with Lincoln" game, a customized video game experience designed to entice
visitors to answer trivia questions. Although soybean information is
emphasized, Abraham Lincoln trivia is also included to tie in with the 200th
birthday celebration and other Lincoln materials within the exhibit.
Positioned in one corner of the main tent, "Think'n with Lincoln" will be
projected on a large, flat-panel television screen and is designed to allow up
to three players to compete at a time. Each trivia question will appear on the
screen with multiple-choice and true-false answers as "Abraham Lincoln"
instructs participants, moderates the game and hands out prizes. Randy Duncan,
an accomplished Abraham Lincoln impersonator, will act as game host and will
encourage visitors to see the exhibits on display and play the game. Following
the Farm Progress Show, the interactive game will be available online at
www.ilsoy.org.
The Illinois Soybean Association is the statewide organization for Illinois
