Global Social Network for Environmental Due Diligence Professionals Sees
Member Activity More Than Double in July
Commonground Membership Increases By 20 Percent This Summer
MILFORD, Conn., Aug. 17 /PRNewswire/ -- Despite the summer season when
businesses traditionally slow as workers take summer vacation, commonground,
the global social network for environmental due diligence professionals
developed by Environmental Data Resources, Inc. (EDR), saw activity double
last month and membership increase by 20 percent since June 1.
EDR's Chief Marketing Officer, Jay Gaines, attributes the surge to the state
of the economy coupled with people's desire to confer and connect with their
peers. "The last 10 months have created challenges and triggered rethinking
about how business should be done among environmental and property due
diligence professionals. Like other industries, the property due diligence
industry has also suffered tremendous job loss," said Gaines. "We see people
joining commonground to share ideas, ask questions and network with peers and
colleagues. The discussions that result are rich with conflicting points of
view and heated debates."
According to Gaines, the trend to join a social network among professionals
who work on the due diligence aspect of commercial real estate shows no signs
of decline, saying the community has recently begun to offer the option for
associations and businesses to create unique groups on commonground.
Jeff Telego, President of RTM Communications, Inc. and Risk Management
Technologies, Inc., is among the first to establish a group in the community
on the site as a value-added offering to his event attendees. As a leader in
national conferences and webinars focused on environmental risk management and
sustainable development, Telego saw the wisdom in setting up a group within an
established online community. "We recognize the value commonground provides
us in the marketplace," he explains. "Our group in the community will allow
our attendees to interact with one another and discuss and debate topics."
Launched in April 2008, commonground connects more than 4,000 environmental
professionals from 70 countries and all 50 states representing 2,000
companies. Membership is free and includes environmentally-focused
individuals ranging from property due diligence professionals, attorneys,
appraisers, lenders, industry leaders, market experts and the next generation
of environmental professionals entering the workforce from leading colleges
and universities.
Environmental Data Resources, Inc. is the leading provider of environmental
risk information services and related workflow applications in the United
States. As the innovator of the most comprehensive database of environmental
