WEST HAVEN, CT, Aug 17 (MARKET WIRE) --
West Haven residents can now shop for the brands they love at the prices
they want -- closer to home. West Haven will soon have its own AJWright,
a leading off-price retailer offering great deals on quality brand name
family apparel and footwear, accessories, home essentials, giftware, toys
and more, all at up to 70 percent off discount and chain store prices.
Beginning Thursday, Aug. 27, 2009, at 8:00 a.m., AJWright will open its
doors just in time for back-to-school and all things fall.
The grand opening will feature an exclusive perk for West Haven residents
in attendance. The first 100 store visitors will receive a $20 gift card.
The celebration will continue with an open casting call for aspiring
AJWright models on Sept. 12, 2009.
"We encourage shoppers to join us for this special event and experience
for themselves the positive AJWright shopping environment," said Kathy
Clair, AJWright assistant vice president of marketing. "We are excited to
provide discounted brand-names to the Greater New Haven community and hope
residents will find the new store convenient for their back-to-school
needs."
AJWright regular store hours are Monday through Saturday from 9:00 a.m. to
9:00 p.m. and Sunday from 11:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. The store will remain
open until 10:00 p.m. on Thursday to accommodate grand opening shoppers.
"Our stores refresh merchandise weekly, so West Haven residents can reap
the benefits of stylish, affordable fashion closer to home," said Clair.
"Low prices never go out of fashion, especially during the back-to-school
season. We strive to make everyday items affordable for the family without
sacrificing quality."
In addition to creating 50 new jobs in West Haven, AJWright is committed
to helping the community. Grand opening festivities kick off Thursday at
7:45 a.m. with a special presentation to the Boys & Girls Club of New
Haven.
A representative from the Boys & Girls Club, as well as local dignitaries,
will be present as AJWright makes a donation to the organization. AJWright
supports the Boys & Girls Clubs of America with several programs
throughout the year.
"AJWright has established a commitment to our community with this donation
that greatly impacts the quality of life for our New Haven-area youth. We
appreciate the generous gift and hope to continue this partnership for
many years to come," said Marilyn Burlenski, president of the Boys &
Girls Club of New Haven.
Additionally, the store ribbon cutting will coincide with the check
presentation. After grand opening day, the celebration continues with a
contest to find the next AJWright model. Customers are invited to model
their favorite look outside the store from 11:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. on
Sept. 12, 2009. The winner will be featured as a model in an AJWright
advertisement, and will receive $250, as well as the clothes they modeled.
The new AJWright store is located at 901 Boston Post Road, West Haven, CT,
06516. For more information about AJWright, including regular store hours,
