Critical Outcome Technologies Inc. Announces Pilot Project Conclusion

  LONDON, ONTARIO, Aug 17 (MARKET WIRE) -- 
Critical Outcome Technologies Inc. (COTI) (TSX VENTURE: COT) announced
today that COTI has received notification from Merck KGaA (FRANKFURT:
MRK) of Darmstadt, Germany that it decided to discontinue the pursuit of
compounds under the pilot project announced on October 17, 2007. The
project called for COTI to identify drug discovery candidates for a
specific oncology cellular target of importance to Merck KGaA.
