California Pizza Kitchen Opens in Cherry Hill, New Jersey

California Pizza Kitchen, Inc. (CPK) (NASDAQ:CPKI), home to the Original BBQ
Chicken Pizza and other innovative hearth-baked pizzas, made-to-order pastas,
creative salads, appetizers, soups, sandwiches and desserts, opened a new
full-service restaurant in Cherry Hill, New Jersey today.

The new 5,500 square foot restaurant is located at 2000 Route 38, at the Cherry
Hill Mall. Hours of operation will be Monday through Thursday from 11:30 a.m. to
10:00 p.m., Friday and Saturday from 11:30 a.m. to 11:00 p.m., and Sunday from
12:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. Guests can dine-in, place a take-out order by ordering
online at cpk.com or use CPK`s Curbside Service and have their order delivered
to their car by calling (856) 910-8121.

The menu will feature all of the popular favorites along with the newest menu
additions including a Moroccan Chicken Salad, Moroccan-spiced chicken breast on
a bed of crisp Romaine lettuce with butternut squash, Medjool dates, fresh
avocado, toasted almonds, fresh beets, chopped egg, carrots, dried cranberries
and red bell peppers tossed in champagne vinaigrette; Meat Cravers Pizza, a
combination of sweet Italian sausage, pepperoni, Canadian bacon, Capicola ham,
julienne salami and Mozzarella cheese; and the Cheeseburger Pizza, with ground
Angus beef, caramelized sweet onions, Mozzarella and American cheeses,
hearth-baked then topped with fresh Roma tomatoes, chilled shredded lettuce and
CPK`s secret sauce. Also added are two new twists on CPK`s most popular pizza,
the Original BBQ Chicken Pizza, introduced on CPK`s first menu in 1985. Guests
will now be able to order The Hawaiian BBQ Chicken Pizza with fresh pineapple
and The BBQ Chicken with Applewood Smoked Bacon Pizza.

The new restaurant will also feature a beverage menu from its full bar,
including a great selection of wines along with an extensive list of specialty
cocktails, martinis and margaritas.

Following CPK`s tradition of giving back to the communities in which it
operates, the new CPK restaurant will donate 100% of all dine-in pizza sales
during regular business hours on Monday, August 24, 2009, to Safe Kids Southern
New Jersey at Children`s Regional Hospital at Cooper, an organization which
works to prevent accidental childhood injuries.
