InterDigital shares slump 30 pct on initial patent case ruling
Aug 17 (Reuters) - Shares of wireless technology firm InterDigital Inc (IDCC.O) fell 30 percent on an initial ruling issued on Friday that favors Nokia Oyj (NOK1V.HE) in a patent infringement case involving both companies.
A U.S. International Trade Commission (ITC) judge said on Friday that the Nokia handsets did not infringe InterDigital's patents. [nN14311816]
InterDigital said it disagreed with the judge's initial ruling and would petition the full commission to review and reverse it.
In 2007, the company had alleged that Nokia's 3G WCDMA handsets infringed four of its patents.
InterDigital shares were down $7.5 at $22.00 in pre-market trade. They closed at $29.50 Friday on Nasdaq.
