BERLIN (Reuters) - After Usain Bolt rocked the athletics world on Sunday by smashing his own 100 metres record, the women will have their turn in the 100m at the world athletics championships on Monday.

Like the men's race, in which Jamaican Bolt's 9.58 burned off American Tyson Gay and countryman Asafa Powell, the women's semifinals and finals will likely be a Caribbean-U.S. show.

Thirteen of the 16 semi-finalists hail from the U.S. or the islands.

Jamaican Olympic silver medallist Kerron Stewart set the pace in Sunday's qualifying, clocking 10.92 seconds with American champion Carmelita Jeter just behind.

In the pole vault Russian world record holder Yelena Isinbayeva should claim another global title.

The championships' third day also will include finals in the men's hammer throw, women's triple jump, women's 3,000 metres steeplechase and men's 10,000 metres
