Only Tennessee Company to Make List
FRANKLIN, Tenn.--(Business Wire)--
For the fourth consecutive year, Psychiatric Solutions, Inc. ("PSI") (NASDAQ:
PSYS) has made Fortune magazine`s list of the Top 100 Fastest-Growing Companies.
It is the only Tennessee company to make this year`s list, as it was in 2008 and
2006.
PSI, which is the largest operator of psychiatric inpatient facilities in the
country, ranked No. 98 on the list just released by the magazine, which
considers factors such as revenue and earnings per share (EPS) growth rates.
Last year, PSI ranked No. 64. In 2007 and 2006, it ranked No. 49 and No. 34,
respectively.
"We are extremely proud to be the only Tennessee company ranked on Fortune`s
list of the fastest-growing companies in the nation," said Joey Jacobs,
chairman, president and chief executive officer of PSI. "This is a testament to
the hard-working people we have at PSI and our facilities nationwide. They work
hard to make every day a brighter day for patients in need of behavioral health,
not because of awards or accolades, but because of their compassion for these
patients."
To qualify for consideration in Fortune`s list of the 100 Fastest-Growing
Companies, a company, domestic or foreign, must be trading on a major U.S. stock
exchange; file quarterly reports to the SEC; have a minimum market
capitalization of $250 million on June 30, 2009; have revenue and net income of
the four quarters ended on or before April 30, 2009, of at least $50 million and
