TRIPOLI (Reuters) - A former Libyan agent jailed for life for the 1988 Lockerbie aircraft bombing arrived back in Libya Thursday after Scottish authorities released him because he is dying of cancer.

Abdel Basset al-Megrahi's plane landed at Tripoli's Mitiga Airport and he emerged after a long wait on the tarmac to greet members of his family, a Reuters reporter on the scene said.
