COPENHAGEN Aug 20 (Reuters) - German wind-farm developer PNE Wind AG (PNEGn.DE) said on Thursday it chose Danish wind turbine maker Vestas (VWS.CO) to supply 80 units for its Gode Wind II offshore wind park in the North Sea.

"This agreement entails the joint technical development for the set-up of 80 Vestas wind-energy systems in the "Gode Wind II" offshore project, which has already been approved," PNE Wind said in a statement.

But a Gode Wind spokesman said that no contract had yet been signed.

Vestas officials were not immediately available for comments.

Gode Wind II is in total a 400-megawatt wind power development, which PNE said it aimed to start up in 2011-2012.
