(Adds banks)

The banking subindex fell nearly 1.0 percent, with top lender Bangkok Bank BBL.BK down 0.88 percent at 112 baht, after Citigroup said in a research note that weaker loan growth in July and pricing competition could put pressure on Thai banks' net interest margins.
