SAO PAULO Aug 24 (Reuters) - Braskem (BRKM5.SA), Latin America's largest petrochemical company, said it was in talks with controlling shareholders of rival Quattor SZPQ4.SA to spot opportunities for a strategic alliance.

The Sao Paulo-based company said the talks had not borne any concrete results, according to a regulatory filing released on Sunday. The company declined to elaborate on the nature of the discussions.
