Indian shares extend gains to 2 pct

MUMBAI Aug 24 (Reuters) - Indian shares extended gains to 2 percent on Monday, joining a rally across Asia after Wall Street rose on Friday following surprisingly good U.S. home sales data and positive comments by the U.S. Federal Reserve chief.

At 11:08 a.m. (0538 GMT), the 30-share BSE index .BSESN was up 2 percent at 15,551.79 points, with all stocks gaining.

The 50-share NSE index .NSEI was up 2.1 percent at 4,621.90. (Reporting by Pratish Narayanan; Editing by Himani Sarkar)
