U.S. SECURITIES AND EXCHANGE COMMISSION
The regulator appointed James Kroeker as its top accountant, where he will be responsible for thorny issues such as off-balance sheet accounting.
Kroeker joined the SEC as its deputy chief accountant in February 2007. He has been serving as the SEC's acting chief accountant since January of this year. [ID:nN25213928]
WILLIS GROUP HOLDINGS (WSH.N)
The global insurance broker appointed Vic Krauze as president of Willis HRH, its North American retail business. Krauze will retain his current responsibilities as chief operating officer of Willis HRH and will continue to report to Don Bailey, chairman and chief executive of Willis HRH.
SCOTTRADE
The online investment firm hired Joe Bernier as director of margin, and promoted Shannon Munton to service center director.
THAMES RIVER CAPITAL
Thames River Capital said it has appointed Trygve Toraasen as a fund manager on its European Equities team. Toraasen, who will manage the Thames River European Fund, most recently worked at Fidelity Investments.
CARVER BANCORP INC (CARV.O)
Carver Bancorp Inc said it has appointed Chris McFadden as chief financial officer. McFadden, who will join Carver on Sept. 14, was most recently CFO at Banco Popular North America.
UBS AG (UBSN.VX)
UBS AG's UBS Australia has hired a team of seven property investment bankers from JP Morgan Chase & Co's (JPM.N) JP Morgan Australia, amid signs that the battered property sector could see a strong rebound.
Tim Church, the managing director of JP Morgan's real estate banking division in Australia, will join UBS Australia as the Swiss bank's head of property banking, a UBS spokeswoman said, and his team will move with him.

LIECHTENSTEIN'S VP BANK (VPB.S)
Liechtenstein's VP Bank said Chief Executive Officer Adolf Real is stepping down over strategic differences after it reported first-half net outflows of 1 billion Swiss francs ($943 million). [ID:nLP85769]
DEUTSCHE BANK (DBKGn.DE)
RREEF Alternative Investments (RREEF), the global alternative investment management business of Deutsche Bank, said Kurt Roeloffs, previously CEO of RREEF Asia Pacific, is now RREEF's global chief investment officer.
The company also said Niel Thassim has been appointed regional head of real estate, Asia Pacific, while Mark Fogle has been appointed chief investment officer for RREEF Real Estate, Asia Pacific.
NORTHERN TRUST CORP (NTRS.O)
Northern Trust Corp said it has appointed Teresa Parker chief executive of the Asia-Pacific region, replacing Gregg Behrens, who will retire on Nov. 30.
