KUALA LUMPUR Aug 25 (Reuters) - Malaysia's largest lender Malayan Banking (Maybank) (MBBM.KL) said on Tuesday it swung to a fourth-quarter loss as it wrote down by 1.97 billion ringgit the asset values of its units in Indonesia and Pakistan.

State-controlled Maybank, with a market value of 46 billion ringgit ($13.1 billion), posted an April-June net loss of 1.1 billion ringgit compared with a profit of 703.2 million ringgit a year ago.

The bank said it will pay a final dividend of 8 sen per share.

Maybank spent about $3 billion last year to acquire close to a 100 percent stake in Bank International Indonesia (BII) (BNII.JK), 20 percent of Pakistan's MCB Bank (MCB.KA) and 15 percent of Vietnam's An Binh Bank.

Full-year net profit plunged to 692 million ringgit from 2.9 billion ringgit in the previous year.
