NOTE - China Telecom (0728.HK) is a leading provider of
fixed-line telephone, data, Internet and leased line services in
four of the most economically developed regions in China.

The calculation of share earnings is based on the weighted
average of 80,932 million shares in issue during the two years.

The consensus (mean) forecast, according to a poll by Reuters
Estimates, was for net profit of 8.14 billion yuan for the first
half ended June 2009.
