LONDON, UNITED KINGDOM, Aug 27 (MARKET WIRE) --
Student Monitoring is essential if Apprenticeships are going to deliver
to their full potential, according to Perspective, a leading authority in
apprenticeship training and distributed learning.

Apprenticeship schemes have already attracted thousands from all around
the UK but, with learning throughout the course taking place both on site
(in work) and off site (at college), keeping accurate and up-to-date
records of their attendance and progress has never been so important.

Indeed, the multiple site learning also requires more parties to be
involved in the delivery of the scheme and as a result the Learning
Management process can very quickly become out of date if the records are
faxed or posted to and from the locations.

Traditionally, all student monitoring was completed manually by filling
in numerous pieces of paperwork and completing various spreadsheets - a
process that can be extremely time consuming, not to mention inaccurate.
Furthermore, problem areas, such as unauthorised absences, are often
picked up too late to be able to take the appropriate action or, missed
all together.

Gary Harlock, Director at Perspective, commented: "Keeping up-to-date
student records is essential with all types of learning but especially
when the students are taught at different sites. Should the records
continue to be effectively out-of-date and problems areas aren't red
flagged and dealt with, then the likelihood is that more students are
going to fail, or even drop out of, apprenticeship schemes."

However, Perspective has created an effective means of measuring
apprenticeship progression and attendance. Sunesis is an intuitive, web
based management tool which enables key stake holders involved in the
delivery of apprenticeship schemes to track individuals and their
progression throughout the duration of the apprenticeship.

This is done with a simple click of a button enabling training providers
to manage apprentices through effective learner-centric tracking of
progression against qualifications, frameworks and milestones, as well as
managing funding, recruitment and statistical reporting.

Sunesis uses unique access controls giving real time, secure views of a
learner's progress to all key operators, i.e. managers, trainers,
assessors, verifiers, employers and the apprentices themselves, providing
appropriate levels of visability to all of the critical phases of each
apprenticeses progress.

Perspective has also recently joined the Systems Interoperability
Framework (SIF) Association, a non-profit membership organisation that
makes it possible for systems to communicate and share data, without any
additional programming - meaning that the integration of any of
Perspective's solutions is a quick and simple process.

The system enables new and existing clients, with one or more independent
management systems, to input data into one with it then automatically
transferred to the other. This therefore, with the systems effectively
able to talk to each other, will avoid the time consuming process of
duplicating data entry.
