Report Combines Claim and Fixed Costs in One Function to Show Total Plan Expenses TULSA, Okla.--(Business Wire)-- "At Benefit Informatics, some of the best ideas come from the smartest people we know - our customers," said Phil Bruns, Chief Operating Officer for Benefit Informatics. "Many of the functions of our online solutions have come about through working closely with our customers to develop analysis and reporting applications that meet their needs." The newest Benefit Informatics online application to be developed in cooperation with customer feedback is the Plan Experience Summary which combines claim costs, eligibility information and fixed fees charged by administrators, PPOs and others. The new report presents employers and health plans with a comprehensive view of their total plan expenses for the period specified. The Plan Experience Summary allows for a wide variety of data source inputs, including admin fees, PPO access fees, stop-loss premiums and many other expenses. These additional data points can be manually entered or included as part of a data feed. Benefit Informatics customer Benefit Administrative Systems (BAS) in Homewood, Illinois contributed to the application`s development with ideas and feedback. Pam Johansen, Manager of Information Systems for BAS, worked closely with BI personnel on this new application. "We look at our relationship with Benefit Informatics as partnership that we have built over many years. We have worked closely with BI to develop reports and other functions that have increased our efficiency," Johansen said, adding, "BI is always willing to listen to our ideas and work with us." Benefit Informatics integrates data from a variety of sources into one comprehensive database and then normalizes or reformats this data into actionable management information. Users can access the Plan Experience Summary or any of the more than 30 standard analysis and reporting functions that require that users only enter a date range to produce a report. For more in-depth analysis of health plan expenses and utilization, an ad-hoc or specialized report builder allows users to filter the data using a variety of plan aspects.
