CHICAGO--(Business Wire)-- For the third consecutive year, USG Corporation`s (NYSE: USG) L&W Supply Co. subsidiary Seacoast Supply received the prestigious Partners of Choice Award from David Weekley Homes, a privately held home builder based in Houston, Texas. Seacoast Supply achieved an "AA" rating, earning an "A" rating in both service and quality for the second year in a row after receiving an "A" rating in 2007. Seacoast Supply is the only drywall or roofing supplier to earn the "AA" rating in the award`s six-year history and is one of only 11 companies to earn the coveted "AA" rating. A total of 150 companies participate in the award program. "We are honored to receive this award from David Weekley Homes, and hold an "AA" rating for the second consecutive year," said Brendan Deely, president and chief executive officer of L&W Supply. "The Partners of Choice Award is a testament to Seacoast Supply and the employees that are dedicated to providing the best quality building solutions and service in the industry." The awards are based on the David Weekley Homes` National Trading Partner Survey, a running quarterly review provided by nearly 1,000 David Weekley employees. Suppliers are rated on quality, service, price and relationship response on a 1-10 scale. The scores for each company are averaged, and then ranked with all others that participate. Alpha rankings ranging from "A" to "F" are assigned in 20-percent increments. Receiving an "A" for both quality and service in the same year is rare, with the "AA" Partners of Choice Award being the highest possible ranking. The awards are presented to suppliers who maintained either an "AA" rating for both quality and service, or an "A" rating in either quality or service for the previous twelve months. "It is extremely difficult to achieve an "A" rating in both quality and service for three months, let alone 12, but Seacoast Supply has earned that honor twice," said Bill Justus, vice president of Supply Chain Services for David Weekley Homes, who developed the quarterly survey and ranking methodology six years ago. "A world class supplier is willing to put their products and services up against anybody, anywhere, anytime. And that is what Seacoast Supply has done two years running." "This award reflects our ongoing commitment to David Weekley Homes and our customers," said Tim Mahaffey, general manager, operations, Florida Region of L&W Supply. "It is a thrill and honor for the whole Seacoast Supply team to be recognized once again for this prestigious award."
