New Blanket Purchase Agreement (BPA) Supports the Commercialization of Tactical
Communications Infrastructure
MCLEAN, Va.--(Business Wire)--
Trace Systems Inc., a McLean, VA.-based systems integrator and technical
services firm that provides comprehensive communications, networking, IT and
other C4ISR services and solutions for the U. S. Department of Defense,
Department of Homeland Security, and other U.S. Government customers today
announced that it has been awarded a Blanket Purchase Agreement (BPA) to support
Project Manager Network Service Center (PM NSC), Project Director Defense
Communication Systems - Southwest Asia (PD DCS-SWA) in its mission within
Southwest Asia Theater of Operations, as well as various CONUS locations to
support the DCS-SWA Command and Control Communications Center (C4)
Commercialization.

The five year BPA was awarded by the U.S. Army Contracting Command - Rock Island
Contracting Center (ACC - RICC), and will support a wide range of solutions,
including wireless technologies, voice and data solutions, inside/outside plant
(ISP/OSP), premise wiring, and technical control facilities. The BPA provides PD
DCS-SWA a new vehicle to address all phases of projects, including technical and
program management and analysis, acquisition, engineering, installation,
de-installation, relocation, refurbishment, integration, testing, logistical
services, training, and authority to purchase any materials or services required
to support these tasks. Deliverables under the BPA will provide for terrestrial
communications infrastructure within the Central Command (CENTCOM) Theater of
Operations for support units, activities or agencies assigned or anticipated to
be assigned to these locations.

"We are pleased to have received the BPA award and are also ready for tough
competition at the task order level," said Terry Severson, president of Trace
Systems. "The ability to rapidly support U.S. and coalition forces`
communications requirements in a war zone is critical. The development of this
acquisition vehicle allows PD DCS-SWA to address the needs of our deployed
Warfighters with time-sensitive communications requirements much more quickly."

At the time of the announcement, Trace Systems also announced their preferred
vendors and suppliers under the new BPA, which include ITT, GTSI, Paxton
International, and Atlantic CommTech Corporation. "Like us, our strategic
partners and suppliers under this BPA are well-established companies with a long
history of supporting these types of requirements throughout all of Southwest
Asia. We chose partners that complement our existing capabilities and resources
by contributing access to any product or service that may be envisioned under
the BPA," Severson said.
