COLUMBUS, GA, Aug 27 (MARKET WIRE) --
Industry flame resistance clothing experts, DRIFIRE(R) recently announced
they will host a web event in conjunction with ISHN Magazine to discuss
the new NFPA 70E Standards for FR requirements of personal protective
clothing. The hour-long Webinar is scheduled to take place on September
15, 2009 at 1 p.m. EDT and will be hosted by a panel of experts
representing the leading arc flash clothing developer and manufacturer
as well as other industry authorities.

According to the new NFPA 70E Standard for FR pants and other FR
clothing, a garment can only qualify as an HRC 2 garment system if it
completely meets the new requirements. The focus of the new requirement is
to avoid the natural fiber under layers from igniting. Therefore, a cotton
t-shirt under a FR shirt will no longer qualify. To meet the standards of
flame resistance, the FR outer layer must rate at least 8 cal/cm2 or
additional FR undergarment layers may be added to bring the system up to
the full 8 calories of protection required for HRC 2.

"The new NFPA 70E Standard might seem straightforward, but when it comes
down to actual implementation, many find there are several questions that
are left unanswered. We are conducting this Webinar to answer some of
those commonly asked questions and clear all doubts about the new
standards for FR," says Hugh Hoagland, Founder and Technical Consultant,
ArcWear (http://www.arcwear.com/).

The upcoming Web event is free of charge, but participants are required to
pre-register their attendance. Tracy Linton, Senior Vice President,
Commercial of DRIFIRE in collaboration with Hugh Hoagland, a Technical
Consultant with ArcWear.com, will host the event. Both men have extensive
experience in the FR clothing industry and are well qualified to address
questions on the new changes and their impact. The editor of ISHN
Magazine, Dave Johnson, will moderate the event.

The experts will discuss technical FR fiber and fabric solutions and how
they can provide increased compliance and combat heat stress in a work
environment, regardless of climatic conditions. Additionally, Webinar
attendees will learn how FR fibers can provide increased comfort through
evaporative cooling, reducing today's existing compromise between comfort
and protection.

"At DRIFIRE, we are excited for the opportunity to share information about
the new NFPA 70E Standard. The Webinar is a free tool for people to gain a
better understanding about the FR technology available and how it can
significantly impact safety and comfort," concludes Cone.
