ANGLO & OVERSEAS PLC

Based on a bid price valuation, the unaudited net asset value per Ordinary
Share of the Company as at 26 August 2009 was 103.67 pence including estimated
current period revenue and 101.02 pence excluding current period revenue.

This is based on 75,887,881 Ordinary Shares, being the issued capital of
84,319,319 Ordinary Shares less 8,431,438 Ordinary Shares held in treasury.
