CINCINNATI--(Business Wire)--
Forest Oil Corporation (NYSE: FST) was a favorite target on both sides of the
options pits yesterday. The security saw about 8,200 calls cross the tape,
almost 7.5 times its average daily volume of fewer than 1,100 contracts.
Meanwhile, FST saw about 8,100 puts change hands, more than 11 times its average
single-session volume of roughly 700 contracts.

Most of the activity surrounded the at-the-money October 15 strike, which saw
about 7,000 puts and 6,500 calls cross the tape yesterday. Digging deeper into
the data, it seems that some of the volume was related, with at least one
investor initiating a long straddle on FST.
