LabTutor for Nursing -- A New Tool for Anatomy & Physiology Laboratories

ADInstruments is helping nursing students bridge the gap between the
classroom and hospital ward with the latest version of LabTutor and three
Nursing Experiment Collections. LabTutor 3.0 supports 19 new experiments
(featuring over 100 exercises including patient case studies) that
illustrate in practical terms the biological theory taught in nursing
anatomy and physiology classrooms. The Nursing experiments involve
students observing, recording and analyzing the physiology of their own
bodies.

LabTutor breaks each experiment into a series of exercises and
automatically adjusts the PowerLab hardware settings to optimize the
signal being recorded. This makes it possible for students to perform
experiments with minimal supervision. Each LabTutor Nursing experiment
includes patient case studies and a report page covering scientific
concepts and its clinical implications that can be completed and
submitted electronically.

LabTutor Nursing experiments are available in three collections to suit
different undergraduate/postgraduate laboratories. The basic Nursing
Collection features ten commonly performed experiments including blood
pressure, breathing and ECG. For institutions with wet labs, an
alternative Nursing (with Dissection) Collection is available with
anatomy dissection exercises. The Advanced Nursing Collection contains
several patient cases and data for comparative analyses. Educators can
customize or create new LabTutor experiments to suit their classroom
using the LabAuthor software.

PowerLab Teaching Systems are supplied with LabTutor software, hardware,
