Berkshire Homestate Goes Live With Phase II of Duck Creek Technologies' Policy
Administration Solution and Adds Billing Solution
Platform is key factor in selection of billing solution
BOLIVAR, Mo., Aug. 27 /PRNewswire/ -- Duck Creek Technologies, Inc., a leading
provider of software and service solutions for the insurance industry, today
announced that Berkshire Hathaway Homestate Companies ("BHHC") has launched
the second phase of its implementation of the Duck Creek Policy
Administration(TM) solution. Phase I allowed BHHC to issue policies directly
through the Duck Creek's system for workers' compensation business for over 30
states. Phase II, which is currently underway, will allow BHHC to issue an
array of commercial insurance line products including automobile, property,
and general liability. As of today, the company has successfully rolled out
their new commercial auto product in Texas, with several other states
following. In addition, BHHC has acquired the Duck Creek Billing(TM) solution
to add to its technology replacement project, with plans to implement this
solution across all commercial lines of business.
This replacement legacy policy administration project is modernizing BHHC's
technology base so they can leverage their market strategy--bringing new
products to market faster with a configurable flexible system and streamlining
their policy management process.
BHHC's CEO, Rod Eldred, commented, "Duck Creek was selected as our partner
because we wanted an integrated policy administration solution that was
capable of combining a traditional ISO rating approach for some lines of
business, with non-traditional proprietary rating algorithms for others. In
addition, the ability to develop our own workflow processes and maintain the
system ourselves is a huge advantage. The increased operational effectiveness
of Duck Creek's web enablement will provide our agents with the ability to
quickly quote, bind and issue. We are pleased with the progress of our
modernization project and with the addition of Duck Creek Billing, now our
solutions will share one platform--systems will be consolidated. The billing
front-end is impressive and the integration ease with the policy
administration system will help streamline our processes."
"BHHC is a valued partner and we are pleased that our policy administration
system has enabled them the benefits of a modernized technology platform,"
said Steve Hall, CEO at Duck Creek. "We are delighted to deliver an
integrated policy administration and billing solution for BHHC to help their
agents and employees enhance customer service, improve margins and positively
impact profitability. This is a significant commitment that reaffirms our
focus and unique expertise in the Property and Casualty insurance sector. We
look forward to working closely with BHHC to ensure a speedy deployment and
achievement of their current and future business goals."
