Upper Midwest Emmys Announce 2009 Nominees
MINNEAPOLIS, Aug. 27 /PRNewswire/ -- The National Academy of Television Arts &
Sciences, Upper Midwest Chapter, has announced the Emmy Award nominees for
2009. Emmy winners will be announced at the Awards Gala on Saturday, September
26, 2009.
The awards presentation will take place at Pantages Theater and an after party
at Seven Steak & Sushi will follow. Emmy-themed cocktails will be provided by
(ri)1, including an "Emmytini" created for the 2009 Upper Midwest Emmys.
Emceed by Jason Matheson of KMSP, the Awards Gala will also present Gold and
Silver Circle Honors and recognize scholarship winners. Gold and Silver Circle
honors recognize individuals who have made a significant contribution to the
television industry over the course of their careers.
"We are really excited about this year's Emmy nominees, and Gold and Silver
Circle honorees," says Carol Rueppel, Chapter president. "They have all
contributed outstanding work to our industry over the past year. In honoring
them, we've worked hard to update the Emmys night events and create an
atmosphere that is truly representative of our industry's most prestigious
awards."
Attendees can kick off their night with a specially-priced pre-show dinner at
Seven, followed by a pre-show wine reception from Chateau St. Michelle Winery
and Pepin Heights. During the cocktail hour and part of the after party, the
Upper Midwest Chapter will auction off several big-ticket items, such as a
tour of the new Target Field, two plane tickets to Cancun, and one year of
green home cleaning from EcoMama Clean. Funds raised through the auction will
support the Upper Midwest Chapter's educational programs and scholarships.
Reservations are required to attend Emmys night. Despite the enhanced events,
ticket prices have been reduced to ensure media on tight budgets may attend.
Members and non-members can find out about pricing and RSVP by visiting
