Five dead in Turkish train crash - TV

ISTANBUL, Aug 27 (Reuters) - An express train collided with a construction vehicle during a journey from Ankara to Istanbul on Thursday, derailing several carriages and killing five people, Turkish media reported.

The collision occurred in Bilecik province at around 6 pm (1500 GMT), state-run Anatolian news agency reported.

Five people died and several were injured in the crash, broadcaster NTV reported.

Ambulances and rescue teams were working to release those trapped in the carriages, broadcasters said. (Writing by Daren Butler; Editing by Louise Ireland)
