Shell resumes output at Nigeria Utorogu gas plant

ABUJA Aug 27 (Reuters) - Royal Dutch Shell (RDSa.L) resumed operations at its Utorogu gas plant in Nigeria's southern Niger Delta last week after repairs were completed following a pipeline attack, a company spokesman said on Thursday.

"We shut in the Utorogu gas plant as a precaution after the attack on the Escravos-Lagos pipeline. As soon as repairs were completed, production resumed," the spokesman said.

He also said the Shell-operated Soku gas plant in southern Nigeria remained shutdown. Operations were halted in November to repair pipelines that were illegally tapped into by thieves. (Reporting by Randy Fabi; Editing by Nick Tattersall)
