(Repeats story issued late on Thursday)
NEW DELHI Aug 27 (Reuters) - The Indian government on Thursday said state-run Telecommunications Consultants India Ltd (TCIL) could sell its 30 percent stake in a unit of top mobile operator Bharti Airtel (BRTI.BO).
TCIL would invite bids from global firms for the stake in Bharti Hexacom through a two-stage bidding process and would appoint advisers shortly, the government said in a statement.
Bharti Airtel owns 70 percent of Bharti Hexacom, which operates in two of India's 22 service areas. (Reporting by Devidutta Tripathy; Editing by John Mair)
