Julius Baer gold fund holdings rise 2 pct

LONDON Aug 28 (Reuters) - Holdings of Julius Baer's (BAER.VX) gold-backed exchange-traded fund rose 43,600 ounces or 2 percent in the week to August 26, the bank said in its weekly statement on Friday.

The amount of gold the fund holds to back its exchange-traded securities had climbed to a record 1.932 million ounces by Wednesday, from 1.889 million ounces a week before, it said. (Reporting by Jan Harvey; Editing by Keiron Henderson)
