CBS Radio reporter injured in Afghanistan bomb
NEW YORK |
NEW YORK (Reuters) - A radio reporter with U.S. network CBS News was injured in Afghanistan when a roadside bomb hit the U.S. Army vehicle in which she was traveling, CBS News said on Friday.
It said Cami McCormick, a New York-based correspondent for CBS Radio News, was injured on Friday in Logar Province in Afghanistan, where she had been covering the recent elections.
"McCormick was initially treated at a field hospital, where she underwent surgery to stabilize her condition, and was then transported to Bagram Air Base in Afghanistan for additional treatment," CBS said in a statement.
It said McCormick was an award-winning reporter who has been with CBS Radio News since 1998 and had done several assignments in Iraq and Afghanistan.
It gave no further details of her condition.
