Greenberg Traurig Expands its Los Angeles Office With the Addition of White Collar Litigation Shareholder, Jan Handzlik LOS ANGELES, Aug. 31 /PRNewswire/ -- The international law firm Greenberg Traurig, LLP announced that Jan L Handzlik has joined its Los Angeles office as a shareholder in the Litigation Group.. Prior to joining Greenberg Traurig, Handzlik was a partner with Howrey LLP. Handzlik is a nationally recognized trial lawyer specializing in white-collar criminal defense and complex business litigation. He has represented numerous individuals and corporations in business crimes investigations and prosecutions across the country. These matters have included civil and criminal securities fraud and enforcement proceedings, tax, bank, healthcare, mortgage and government contract fraud, allegations of public corruption, Foreign Corrupt Practices Act (FCPA) violations, criminal antitrust and environmental offenses, as well as complex civil litigation. Handzlik also regularly conducts corporate internal investigations and advises company counsel on law compliance issues. He has served as an independent monitor of corporate law compliance with the FCPA and US securities laws. Earlier, Handzlik prosecuted federal fraud cases as an Assistant United States Attorney in Los Angeles. Active in pro bono and bar activities, Handzlik serves on the governing Council of the American Bar Association's (ABA) Criminal Justice Section and an ABA President's Task Force seeking to protect the attorney-client privilege. He is an officer of the International Bar Association's Criminal Law Section and Business Crime Committee.
