Mota-Engil net profit 14 mln euros, beats fcast

LISBON Aug 31 (Reuters) - Portugal's largest construction company Mota-Engil (MOTA.LS) on Monday reported a first-half net profit of 14.3 million euros ($20.53 million), about the same as a year ago, to beat analysts expectations on a 14 percent revenue inrcrease.

Revenues rose to 957 million euros and earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation and amortisation (EBITDA) increased 8 percent to 142 million euros, Mota said in a statement. Analysts surveyed by Reuters had expected, on average, a profit of 12 million euros, EBITDA of 140 million and revenue of 931 million. (Reporting by Andrei Khalip)
