BANK OF CYPRUS H1 NET PROFIT FALLS 39 PERCENT
Bank of Cyprus BOC.CY (BOCr.AT), Cyprus's largest lender, posted a 39 percent fall in first-half net profit, weighed by higher costs and slower loan growth, and said it was sticking to full-year guidance. [ID:nLV319988]
GREEK JUNE RETAIL SALES PLUNGE 14.2% Y/Y
Greece's retail sales by volume fell 14.2 percent year-on-year in June after a 14.4 percent drop in May, continuing this year's slump, data by the country's statistics service (NSS) showed on Monday. [ID:nLV83458]
ALPHA BANK SELLS TREASURY SHARES
Alpha Bank (ACBr.AT), Greece's third-largest lender, on Monday placed 6.14 million treasury shares with an institutional investor at 12.12 euros each. [ID:nLV90954]
U.S. mutual fund anager Fidelity was the buyer along with another bloc of 3 million shares from Alpha Bank's chairman and Alpha's mutual funds, which brought the total stake to 2.31 percent, financial daily Kathimerini reported.

CCHBC ROMANIA TO SHUT DOWN PLANT
Coca-Cola Hellenic's (HLBr.AT) Romanian subsidiary plans to close a plant in the country, which currently employs more than 100 workers, and convert it to a logistics centre as part of its bids to cut operating costs, financial daily Imerisia reported citing unnamed sources.

FINMIN MEETS GREEK BANKERS
Finance Minister Yannis Papathanassiou meets with Greek Bank CEOs, at 0700 GMT. He then chairs a privatisations committee meeting, at 1000 GMT.
MARKIT TO RELEASE GREEK PMI INDEX FOR AUGUST
Markit will release its Greek manufacturing PMI index for August. In July, the purchasing managers' index (PMI) rose to 48.8 points.
GREECE TO RECEIVE BIDS FOR 1.8 BLN EURO ROAD PROJECTS BY DEC
The Environment and Public Works ministry set a December 22 deadline for the 1.8-billion-euro Attika Ring Road expansion projects. The winner will be picked in the first six months of 2010 , financial daily Kerdos reported.
