CO Jewelry Company Encourages Businesses and Individuals to Pass on the Positive WINDSOR, Colo., Sept. 3 /PRNewswire/ -- In a quest to help inspire people across the country to stay positive and "pass on the positive," Alexa's Angels, a jewelry manufacturer known nationally for its inspirational designs, is launching a National Positivity Movement. Individuals and businesses are encouraged to join the movement by participating in the first National Share Your Positivity Week, October 11 - 17, 2009 and by contributing positive sentiments to the National Positivity Databank at ShareYourPositivity.org. To date, more than 50 businesses nationwide have committed to honoring the week and nearly 2,000 people have contributed to the website. The positivity concept began earlier this year when company founder, Beth Lang, gave away 5,000 sets of specially designed Posi+ivi+y(TM) Bracelets to friends and family with instructions to keep one and pass out the others. The wearable reminders to "stay positive" and the "pass it on" concept took off with feedback pouring in from across the country. "The response was overwhelming," said Lang. "It made us realize a few things - people need some positivity right now, attitude is a choice and positivity is contagious!" The company also held a successful, positivity-themed food drive for a local charity. "These two events made us think how cool it would be if other businesses across the country organized their own goodwill initiatives promoting positivity." To jumpstart the movement, the company created ShareYourPositivity.org, a blog where anyone can share their positive thoughts or stories. The goal is to collect a virtual databank of 500,000 positive sentiments that anyone can be inspired by. The company also declared October 11 - 17, 2009 as National Share Your Positivity Week, and is inviting businesses and individuals to join them in promoting positive behavior. Participation can take many forms; volunteering, collecting funds for charity, or simply passing on the positivity message. Great Western Bank of Colorado, for example, is having employees wear Posi+ivi+y(TM) T-shirts and collecting funds to benefit Realities for Children, a local charity. Each donor receives a Posi+ivi+y(TM) Bracelet and can post their sentiment on a Positivity Petition. "This is a great opportunity for businesses to show their commitment to being socially responsible while fostering a positive environment among employees and customers," says Lang.
