National Open House Planned So Buyers Can Get $8,000 Cash Back
KNOXVILLE, Tenn.--(Business Wire)--
Time is running out for people to receive an $8,000 federal tax credit for
purchasing their first home, including those returning to home ownership after a
three year break. The tax credit is a part of the American Recovery and
Reinvestment Act of 2009 that the House of Representatives and Senate passed
earlier this year.

"It`s an incredible program, but people must be in their homeby December 1, 2009
to qualify, and that means they need to act soon," says David Booth, President
of Clayton Homes, the nation`s largest homebuilder.

Clayton is uniquely positioned to build, deliver and erect your home in a
compressed build cycle. This enables the company and affiliated retailers to
meet the fast approaching deadline. To create awareness for homebuyers they are
sponsoring a National Open House through the end of September. Clayton provides
homes to people at some 450 Clayton company-owned sales centers around the
United States.

"The housing industry is a major economic driver," says Booth. "We hope this
National Open House will not only help people move into home ownership, with all
of its proven long term advantages, but also help our economy."

According to the Recovery Accountability and Transparency Board that oversees
the Recovery Act spending, to qualify as a `first time` homebuyer you must
either be making your first home purchase, or not have owned a home for at least
three years.

Clayton retailers are offering people who buy during the National Open House a
$1,000 gift card.

"With a huge tax break and a gift card to help with any move-in expenses, it`s
the best deal you`ll find," says Booth. "It`s double the value of the `Cash for
Clunkers` offer."

The National Open House runs at local dealerships nationwide through September
30th. More information is available at
