'The Super Fit Vegan' Jeff Sekerak Demonstrates Results of Fitness Program
Through 40-Mile a Day Hike in Death Valley

DEATH VALLEY NATIONAL PARK, STOVE PIPE WELLS, Calif., Sept. 3 /PRNewswire/ --
Jeff Sekerak, the "super-fit vegan" and author of Extreme Minimalist Fitness,
will hike 40 miles per day through California's Death Valley National Park
subsisting on only raw fruit and water. Starting September 5, 2009, Sekerak
hikes from Stove Pipe Wells to a mile marker 20 miles away and returns along
the same route to demonstrate the superior level of fitness attained through
his program, Extreme Minimalist Fitness.

"My approach works," Sekerak said. "I'm living proof. I went from a fast food
addict to someone who can hike 40 miles a day through the desert."

Sekerak's journey from fast food addict to super fit vegan began as he neared
his 40(th) birthday. A weight lifter and former worker aboard an Alaskan
fishing trawler, Sekerak was no stranger to manual labor and exercise but
experienced minor health complaints. After spending years and a lot of money
on medications and supplements, he discovered the power of eating uncooked
fruits and vegetables and developed his minimalist approach to fitness.

"I am in better shape now than I was at age 25," Sekerak said. "Some of that
is due to intense exercise -- and a lot of it from raw foods."

Many who doubt the claims of vegetarians, vegans and raw foodists can only
look at Sekerak's levels of energy and fitness and wonder.

"There's absolutely no way I could be in this kind of shape eating burgers and
fries," he says. "I'm not saying you've got to eat 100% fruit to be healthy.
But increasing your intake of raw fruits and vegetables while still eating
some of your favorite foods is a good way to go. I show people EXACTLY how to
do this in my book without going hungry."

Sekerak embarks from Stove Pipe Wells, California at 4 a.m. on September 5,
2009. He will hike 40 miles each day through Death Valley National Park for
five consecutive days. He will consume nothing but fresh fruit and water each
day on his hike.
