MANCHESTER, England--(Business Wire)--
The recent recession across Europe has seen a general slow down in economic
activity over a sustained period of time and as such businesses have reacted by
streamlining all non essential activity, which although ensures sustainability
through the tough months, does put a strain on the expectations of employees,
with little reward. This is mainly due to the cut backs internal motivational
and reward activities, such as team building and corporate hospitality events.

However, it appears from the recent growth being shown across Europe that many
countries have reached the bottom of the business cycle trough, allowing
businesses to once again to look at marketing and reward activities for staff.
These motivational and creative activities not only allow companies to reward
staff for their hard work but also ensure that the drive and idea creation is
nurtured to ensure the longevity of the business during the economic growth
periods.

Within the UK there is a glimmer of hope around the activities of the business
world, as Funktion Events report improved figures for corporate and team
building activity bookings, which it arranges and manages for all sizes and
sectors of business. Most notably Christmas party bookings and the companies`
firm favourite the Crystal Maze team building event have seen increases in the
number of bookings. Particularly as the Crystal Maze activity can be arranged
both indoors and outdoors, so is not at the mercy of the British weather.

This trend in activity is a good indicator of how businesses are viewing the
growth signs and that Christmas will bring increased sales and the ability to
reward staff for their efforts with a Christmas party at the end of a difficult
trading year. This should hopefully pave the way for 2010 to be a year where
businesses once again feel confident enough in the economy and business
activity, to engage in the growth of their businesses through marketing, via
corporate hospitality events.

The initial signs are positive in that Funktion Events has noted an increase in
the number of companies enquiring about corporate networking and marketing
events for 2010. Ultimately, once the business sector starts to recognise some
companies are engaging in these events, confidence should be engendered
throughout British industry resulting in faster growth and a resultant recession
recovery.
