Massive Rally and Concert to Address American Workers

CHARLESTON, W.Va., Sept. 6 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- Don Blankenship,
Chairman and CEO of Massey Energy, will deliver a speech to the Friends of
America concert and rally in West Virginia on Labor Day, September 7th. As
many as 100,000 people are expected to attend from 31 states around the
country. The Labor Day concert and rally features country music legend Hank
Williams, Jr., John Rich and Fox News personality Sean Hannity. American icon
Ted Nugent will emcee the event. Following are excerpts from Mr. Blankenship's
speech:

"Our gathering today is about our government and what it is doing to American
Labor. It is also about what our government is allowing others to do to
American Labor. Our government, environmental extremists, American
corporations, and politicians on the right and the left are all endangering
American Labor. They are making American Labor the real endangered species as
they tell us that their goal is to save the planet".
. . .

"Today, as managers and producers of domestic energy, you and I endure the
dishonesty of our government. An Environmental Protection Agency that
considers their cause more sacred than the truth. We endure a government that
uses our taxes to destroy our jobs."
. . .

"We don't need a government that wants to shut down our coal mines. We don't
want a government that wants to increase our power bills. We don't want a
government that loans our tax money to our overseas competitors and that
refuses to loan money to our employers. We don't want a government that is
run by people who believe they can change the earth's temperature when they
can't balance a budget."
. . .

"In Washington, they sometimes say that those of us in Appalachia need help
because we're not very smart. Well, we're smart enough to know that only God
can change the earth's temperature - not Al Gore."
. . .

"It's not only American Labor that's at risk. It's America itself. Let's all
work hard and be friends of America. Let's send the message to Washington
that enough is enough. Let's send the message to Washington that the
politicians have to stop giving our jobs away. If they don't, it's the
politicians that need to retrain and re-locate."

The "Friends of America" rally and concert will be held on Monday, September
7, 2009, from 9:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. Attendees are advised to arrive early to
find parking, which opens at 6:00 AM. For more information, including a
