Hedge fund SAC rehires two who were let go in '08

BOSTON, Sept 8 | Tue Sep 8, 2009 6:06pm EDT

BOSTON, Sept 8 (Reuters) - SAC Capital, one of the world's biggest and most successful hedge fund firms, has rehired a pair of investment managers less than one year after they were let go, a person familiar with the situation said on Tuesday.

David Morant and Ben Halfacre, who work for SAC in London, have rejoined the firm there after being let go in November, the person said.

A spokesman for the firm declined to comment on the matter.

SAC, like many other hedge funds, was forced to lay off staff when it suffered losses during last year's financial crisis.

Since then many fund firms have recovered ground and are slowly adding staff again.
